Document delivery and interlibrary loan (ILL) services provide access to copies of journal articles and books from the Arnold Library collection as well as from other local, regional and national research libraries.

Items Owned by the Arnold Library
If you need assistance accessing library materials, library staff will scan and email articles to you at the same rate as self-service photocopying or mail books and DVDs via interoffice mail.

Items Owned by Other Libraries
Journal articles, media and books not in our collection will be located through the National Network of Libraries of Medicine or the OCLC international library resource sharing system and obtained on your behalf. Requests for items found in local libraries, including the University of Washington, are usually filled within three days. Most other requests are filled within two weeks. Articles which are difficult to locate or incompletely referenced may take longer or be returned to you for additional information.

Policies

There is no charge to FHCRC faculty and staff for interlibrary loan requests.  Document delivery charges are merely the photocopy/scan costs standard on FHCRC copiers.
